PsychByte: Dove Beauty Campaign for Self-Esteem

Dove Beauty Campaign for Self-Esteem

You may be familiar with the Dove Beauty Campaign targeting self-esteem, particularly for women. One of the recent videos depicts women trying to describe themselves to a forensic artist who does not look at them, and compares these drawings with those rendered when someone else described them (from memory) to the same artist. Although the video is only 3 minutes long, it has a powerful message. I have found it to be a helpful therapeutic tool which can lead to strong reactions from clients and discussions about a client’s own self-image.
