PsychByte: Bipolar Disorder

SPARK Autism Research Initiative

According to an article in the July/August 2016 APA Monitor, there are approximately 5.7 million adults with bipolar disorder in the U.S.  Bipolar disorder impacts all domains of an individual’s life—educational, vocational, interpersonal, medical, and financial. Bipolar disorder is a chronic condition that is often difficult to diagnose and difficult to treat. Optimal treatment includes both medication management and psychotherapeutic treatment (click here for a fact sheet from NAMI).
