APA Press Release: Stress in America 2017 (Part II)

APA released the second part of its annual Stress in America (SIA) survey in February. The results of this survey reveals that constantly checking electronic devices is linked to significant stress for most Americans and that parents, in particular, are struggling to balance personal and family technology use. The press release states: “A decade after the emergence of smartphones, Facebook and Twitter, more than 4 out of 5 adults in the U.S. (86%) report that they constantly or often check their email, texts and social media accounts…[and] this attachment to devices and the constant use of technology is associated with higher stress levels for these Americans.”
