IPA Members CE Co-Sponsorship Opportunities

The IPA Continuing Education team supports APA's requirements for continuing education services:CE programs offered to psychologists must meet the Standards, Principles, and Criteria set by the American Psychological Association (APA). As CE programs must specifically address the learning needs of psychologists, the IPA CE Committee will evaluate the workshop proposal(s) and presenter vita(s) and will, normally, provide feedback within 2 weeks. Content and learning objectives for each workshop must be approved by the IPA CE committee. A completed application and application fees must be submitted to IPA at least 90 days prior to the scheduled event to be considered for co-sponsorship. IPA Continuing Education Proposals Process - complete Online Application1. Co-sponsor applicant will name a point of contact for sharing documents, implementing changes, and answering questions.
2. Co-sponsor applicant will work with their presenter(s) to acquire completed
IPA Speaker Agreements, current CVs for each speaker, and draft slide sets for each presentation.
2. IPA's Continuing Education Committee will review complete applications for compliance with APA requirements.
- CV establishes sufficient expertise (licensure status, degrees, certifications, trainings, relevant and established expertise)
- Learning Objectives allow for an optimal, articulated, measurable experience for learners.
- CE regarding the science and profession of psychology that has been empirically established and supported by relevant, peer-reviewed references.
3. IPA will inform co-sponsor of program designee approval/adjustments within 3 weeks of receiving program proposal materials.
4. Following any mutually-agreed-upon changes, IPA will either formally approve or deny approval for the event.

In approved Co-Sponsor CE Programs, IPA will:1. Provide guidance of the process and required language/documentation that must be included to implement a co-sponsored CE event. IPA will work with the applicant to assure that marketing verbiage materials meet APA requirements.
2. Post your event on the IPA Event Calendar as an IPA Co-Sponsored event and provide a web link on the IPA website to your online registration (if applicable).
3. Work with you to create individualized Program Evaluation forms for EACH workshop which must be distributed to workshop attendees. Usually the event sponsor will have a survey platform - IPA will share required questions and answer options, instructions).
4. Work with you to determine process to track attendance.
5. Work with you to determine process to share attendee name/credentials information between IPA and event co-sponsor.
6. Create and distribute CE certificates to those eligible through IPA. Certificates will be e-mailed to qualified recipients.
7. Provide an evaluation summary report for each speaker.
Co-sponsor will:1. Share draft event marketing materials and implement any recommended required verbiage/changes prior to distribution. May announce that Category I CE credit is “pending approval by IPA, who is approved by the APA…” until final approval is granted.
All co-sponsored events must include the following statements verbatim on program brochures or flyers:
The Indiana Psychological Association (IPA) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Indiana Psychological Association maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
IPA is approved by the Indiana State Psychology Board and Indiana Behavioral Health Board to provide Category 1 continuing education for psychologists, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LMFTA, LCAC and LAC.
Licensees must judge the program’s relevance to their professional practice.
Promotional material must also clearly indicate where the following information can be obtained, if not described on the brochures or flyers themselves:
a) Directions on how registrants can request special assistance/accommodations.
b) Statement that APA rules require that credit be given only to those who attend the entire workshop and complete evaluations for each individual session. Those arriving to the workshop more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time or leaving early will not receive CE credits. Partial credit cannot be given.
c) Schedule, learning objectives, speaker credentials, and number of CE credits offered.
d) All registration costs and cancellation policy regarding refund of registration fees.
e) A copy of the brochure/flyer must be sent to the IPA CE Program Administrator at
admin@indianapsychology.org for approval.
2. IPA members receive significant registration discounts on all IPA-sponsored continuing education programs. These discounts are expected for co-sponsored events as well. IPA members who register must receive a 25% discount over the regular registration fee. If a greater discount will be given for other organization members, then IPA members must receive the same discount.
3. Work with IPA to create individualized Program Evaluation forms for EACH workshop which must be distributed to workshop attendees. Usually the event sponsor will have a survey platform - IPA will share required questions and answer options, instructions).
4. Acquire documentation of attendance. This may be a sign-in/sign-out sheet or a webinar-captured attendance report. Attendee list must include participant's first name, last name and attendee credentials. Both must be shared with IPA asap after event concludes.
5. Acquire completed post-event Evaluation surveys and share these with IPA asap.
CO-SPONSORSHIP FEES:IPA Co-sponsorship fee is $250 per year per organization/conference. Application fees are non-refundable, regardless of IPA’s approval or disapproval of the program or workshop. If co-sponsorship has been denied, IPA may suggest modifications to the event to meet criteria and award approval. These modifications can be re-submitted for no additional fee.
A separate
application must be submitted for each workshop for which you are requesting CE sponsorship. The application fee subsequent workshops is $150 per workshop.
IPA will handle the creation and distribution of CE certificates for attendees seeking Category I CE thru IPA. The fee for CE processing is $15/first workshop plus $10/additional workshop. CE processing fees will be invoiced after completion of the event.
